United Way Surpasses 2020 Campaign Goal

Total raised: $2,131,907.16

This campaign has been challenging, to say the least, but we have seen so many people step up. We’ve seen creative fundraising and our partners have worked hard to promote their campaigns and to continue to share the work that our United Way does in the community.

We’re grateful to live in a community that truly cares about helping one and to work with a group of tireless supporters. When we launched our campaign back in September, we challenged ourselves and everyone to continue our work to tackle the #UNIGNORABLE issues in our community. Issues that are complex, challenging, and unfortunately have been amplified by the pandemic. Issues like mental health, food security, poverty, social isolation, and homelessness.

What we saw was tremendous generosity, compassion, care, and incredible community spirit. What we saw was true local love.

Some of our incredible volunteers that show up 7 days a week,

every single day, to better our community.

We set out with a fundraising goal of $2 million but raised an incredible $2,131,907.16. Because of the community’s support and generous contributions to the United Way Community Fund in 2020, we were able to provide funding to 23 essential programs delivered through 21 agencies in our community. These are services that change lives – and services that save lives.

Every day, people in our community fight for a better life for themselves and for their loved ones. These people rely on essential programs funded by United Way to help them towards a better future.

23 funded programs through 21 agencies:

Moreover, these initiatives are made possible through vital community contributions and partnerships:

This means all who call New Brunswick home can find the support they need, when they need it most thanks to initiatives like 211. This means people in our community got enough food to eat. This means children benefited from a safe place to learn & play. This means teenagers were able to connect with someone positive to listen and give them guidance when no one else seems to be there.

We did it together

Thank you to each and everyone of you. Without our incredible volunteers, partners, donors, supporters and champions, we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do. When we think back on the year that was 2020, we’re proud of all that we accomplished, we’re proud to say we surpassed our goal, and we stand tall, because we did it all together.
