MONCTON, N.B. – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
United Way Day of Caring® Unites Over 1,000 Volunteers to Support Local Community Groups, Charities, and Schools
Greater Moncton and Eastern New Brunswick — On Friday, June 13, more than 1,000 dedicated corporate and individual volunteers will come together to donate their time and skills across more than 140 community projects throughout Greater Moncton and Eastern New Brunswick. This inspiring event, part of the annual United Way Day of Caring®, supports charitable organizations, community groups and schools, many of which rely on this vital help to complete projects they otherwise would not have the resources to undertake.
“Day of Caring is a powerful example of community spirit in action,” says Debbie McInnis, CEO of United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick. “It is incredible to see volunteers from so many companies in southeastern and Miramichi New Brunswick join forces to support organizations that play such a crucial role in our community. The work accomplished in just one day creates benefits that will be felt for a long time to come. This event truly highlights the strength we have when we work together.”
Sponsored by Medavie, Day of Caring connects volunteers with local charitable organizations and community groups. Volunteer teams roll up their sleeves to complete projects that strengthen these agencies and improve the spaces where they serve the community. Activities include landscaping, gardening, construction, painting, cleaning and much more. These efforts allow local organizations to better focus on providing vital services that help make our region a better place for everyone.
The event also helps build meaningful connections between local businesses, their employees and the organizations they support, fostering partnerships that last well beyond the day itself.
Day of Caring begins at 7:30 a.m. with a kickoff breakfast for volunteers at Legends Restaurant, followed by a full day of hands-on community work.
United Way warmly thanks all our Day of Caring sponsors for their generous support: Medavie, City of Moncton, City of Dieppe, Town of Riverview, Cook’s Home Hardware, Ermen Plumbing and Heating, Farmer Brown’s Greenhouse, Charles Smith Construction, Audubon Organics, NBCC and TransAqua.
