Local United Way launches 2021 campaign and calls on community to tap into their sense of local love to build stronger communities for all

(Moncton, NB – Sept. 23, 2021) – The United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick kicked off their 2021 campaign in a hybrid event today with a goal to raise $2,200,000 to support critical services and programs in the local community.

Campaign chair Philip Sallaj celebrated the local love our community has shown, stepping up with generosity, compassion and care to support the community’s most vulnerable citizens struggling with issues exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This campaign is all about people like you. People who care about our community and think we can make it a better, stronger place to live,” said Sallaj. “This campaign is a reflection of all of us. It is a testament to our belief that we can make a difference together. It’s local love in action.”

The local United Way annual fundraising campaign, which primarily runs from September through December, raises money mainly through workplace payroll deduction programs, as well as through individual and corporate contributions and special events. All funds contributed to the United Way Community Fund are invested locally in Southeastern New Brunswick.

Founded in 1953, the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick Region Inc. is a non-profit, charitable organization that brings people and resources together to improve lives in our region.
